Window Treatments for French Doors

What to Consider When Selecting Window Treatments for Your French Doors or Patio Doors

We offer a large variety of window treatment options for French doors and patio doors, including Hunter Douglas blinds, shades and shutters.

Virtually any Hunter Douglas window treatment can be ordered to cover a French door, but it's best to select a window covering that has a low-profile headrail and can be attached on the bottom of the window portion of the door.

Products that allow the vanes or shade material to stay close to the door itself are ideal. Many Hunter Douglas window products can be ordered with special cut-outs for pull-down lever door handles.

Customer favorites include Heritance® Hardwood shutters. These shutters always elicit a chorus of "oohs" and "ahhs" from guests - they're so dramatic and beautiful!

We will help you choose the right solution.

Whether your style is classic and elegant, funky and modern, rustic and country or sleek and contemporary, our experienced design professionals will work with you to find the best window treatment solution for your French doors, all within your budget.

Decorating with Calming Colors

Calming colors can help you relax.

They create a more stress-free home environment. Consider this when you select colors for your home: - Select cool colors, such as blue, violet and blue-green. - Use soft, muted shades of almost any color, including powder blue, sage green, pale pink and gentle salmon. - Create a calm look with neutral shades, such as cream, ivory and pale gray. Use calming colors for a variety of your home décor elements, including paint, rugs and carpeting, upholstery, bed linens and more. Looking for even more peace and harmony in your home? Focus on reducing the clutter and chaos; that will go a long way in helping you feel more relaxed and calm. Just to play devil’s advocate … be aware that the mood you want to create may be different in the various rooms of your home. In rooms where you want to feel energized and productive, such as your kitchen or home office, you might want to avoid calming colors and instead select bright hues to raise your energy level. Think ahead about your need for relaxation and a mellow mood before you select the colors for your interior design. Then sit back, relax and enjoy your home!  Interior Motives and more...
