Kitchen Window Treatments

What to Consider when Selecting Window Treatments
for Your Kitchen

As with all rooms, light control is essential in the kitchen -- and so is ventilation. Look for window treatments that allow cooling breezes to enter while providing varying degrees of privacy. If you cook frequently, be sure that the window treatment materials you select stand up to heat and humidity and are easy to clean.

We carry Hunter Douglas window treatments, which offer a wide selection of blinds, shades and shutters for your kitchen. Popular product lines include:

Duette® honeycomb shades
Parkland™ Genuine Wood blinds
Pirouette® window shadings
Provenance® Woven Wood Shades

We will help you choose the right solution.

Whether your style is classic and elegant, funky and modern, rustic and country or sleek and contemporary, our experienced design professionals will work with you to find the best window treatment solution for your kitchen, all within your budget.

Colored Glass

Colored glass attracts more attention than clear glass and can change the mood in a room.

It's a beautiful design element. Stained glass windows are an obvious choice. They’ve been popular for many centuries, bringing brightly colored light into ancient castles, homes and religious buildings. Stained glass can add vintage style to your home or create a touch that’s modern to the max. And stained glass can be custom designed for the exact size and shape of your windows to provide a truly unique design element. If you’re not up for stained glass, consider using window glass with a soft violet, golden or green hue to soften the quality of light coming in, especially in rooms that get a lot of sun or in powder rooms, entries and hallways. Think outside the window! Colored glass can be so used for so much more than just windows, including: - Coffee tables and dining tables - Chandeliers - Lamps - A display of glass vases, bowls, bottles or figurines - Colored glass crystals on the floor of your fireplace - Tile and floor accents - Even wind chimes, garden sculpture and tile insets in the garden Colored glass is the clear choice for a design update this year. It adds touches of light and sparkle to your interior décor!  STORE HOURS Monday through Friday  10am-4pm We are happy to assist you at any other time, including evenings and weekends... Decorating with Calming Colors

Calming colors can help you relax.

They create a more stress-free home environment. Consider this when you select colors for your home: - Select cool colors, such as blue, violet and blue-green. - Use soft, muted shades of almost any color, including powder blue, sage green, pale pink and gentle salmon. - Create a calm look with neutral shades, such as cream, ivory and pale gray. Use calming colors for a variety of your home décor elements, including paint, rugs and carpeting, upholstery, bed linens and more. Looking for even more peace and harmony in your home? Focus on reducing the clutter and chaos; that will go a long way in helping you feel more relaxed and calm. Just to play devil’s advocate … be aware that the mood you want to create may be different in the various rooms of your home. In rooms where you want to feel energized and productive, such as your kitchen or home office, you might want to avoid calming colors and instead select bright hues to raise your energy level. Think ahead about your need for relaxation and a mellow mood before you select the colors for your interior design. Then sit back, relax and enjoy your home!  Interior Motives and more...
